WhatsApp Business Setup

Your WhatsApp Business profile is what customers see before they decide to trust you. A few minutes spent here makes the AI’s answers better and your store look less like a side project.

Since ChatAgent runs on Coexistence, you set all of this up in the WhatsApp Business App you already use. Nothing here requires a new number.

Open the WhatsApp Business App and fill in:

  • Business name — your brand, not your own name
  • Profile photo — a logo or clear brand mark
  • Description — what you sell, in a sentence or two
  • Category — pick the closest match, like E-commerce or Food & Beverage
  • Address — optional, but customers look for it
  • Hours — the AI uses these to decide when to reply and when to hand off
  1. Open WhatsApp Business settings
  2. Go to Business Tools → Business Hours
  3. Set hours for each day
  4. Write an away message for closed hours

ChatAgent picks these up. Outside your hours, you can have the AI send an away message, collect the question for the next business day, or keep answering if you’d rather it work around the clock.

The catalog is how customers browse your products without leaving the chat.

  1. Open WhatsApp Business
  2. Go to Business Tools → Catalog
  3. Add each product with a name, description, price, and photo

ChatAgent syncs your catalog once it’s connected, and the AI answers product questions straight from it.

Keep prices and stock current. If the catalog says a product is in stock when it isn’t, the AI will promise something you can’t deliver, and that’s a refund conversation waiting to happen.

Meta scores your account on how you message people:

  • Green — no problems
  • Yellow — something’s off, worth a look
  • Red — at risk of restrictions

Staying green is simple. Message people who opted in. Don’t send unsolicited blasts. Reply when customers reach out.
