n8n

n8n is a workflow automation tool that lets you connect ChatAgent to hundreds of other apps. Use it to build custom automations beyond what ChatAgent offers natively.

  • Trigger n8n workflows from ChatAgent events (new conversation, order placed, etc.)
  • Send data to n8n — forward conversations, orders, contacts to your n8n workflows
  • Receive data from n8n — trigger ChatAgent actions from external events
  • Build complex automations — combine ChatAgent with Google Sheets, Slack, email, databases, and more
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → n8n
  2. Click Connect n8n
  3. Enter your n8n instance URL
  4. Create an API key in n8n (Settings → API)
  5. Paste the API key into ChatAgent
  6. Test the connection
  7. Activate

Use these ChatAgent events to trigger n8n workflows:

ChatAgent provides a webhook URL for n8n to send data to:

https://api.chatagent.so/webhooks/n8n/{your-webhook-id}

Configure this in your n8n workflow as the HTTP Request node’s URL.

  • Start with pre-built templates — n8n has a template library with ChatAgent integrations
  • Use error handling — add error nodes to catch failures
  • Test with sample data — use ChatAgent’s test mode before going live
  • Monitor n8n executions — check the n8n dashboard for failed workflows
